The theme of Unit 4 is centered on literature. This part, Extended Reading serves as an extension to the whole unit, which is aimed at not only appreciating the famous work of classic literature but also guiding students to have a better understanding of the three qualities of literature.
After learning the class, students are expected to set up right values and have a distillation of emotion. That is, this class will start with the introduction of Hemingway, who believes “A man can be destroyed but not defeated”, then proceed to show the plot of this expert —the struggle between the old man and the fish .Meanwhile, students will learn the unique writing style of Hemingway. Finally, students will be guided to learn to persevere in the face of difficulties.
